Tunisia foils terrorists plan to conduct attacks in Ramadan


(MENAFN) On Friday, Tunisian Interior Ministry emphasized that security forces have foiled a "terrorist attack" that was plotted to occur during the holy month of Ramadan.

The ministry affirmed in a statement that the security forces performed on tip-off about plots by a grouped known as Oqba Ibn Nafaa Brigade to wage attacks on security and military units in the city of Kasserine, 270 km south of the capital Tunis.

It added, "In this operation, the forces seized 11 anti-vehicle and anti-personnel mines, six car batteries, remote-control explosive device, more than 30 kg of explosives, electric detonators, a handgun and a walkie-talkie".
