Suicide bombing in Somalia leaves 7 killed


(MENAFN) An official declared that over seven people, with three senior army officers, have died, as another eight were wounded in a suicide attack in Galkayo town in central Somalia.

A military commander, whose identity remains unknown, confirmed that a suicide attacker has set himself off near military members in a famous restaurant in Galkayo.

He added: "I can confirm to you that seven people including the commander of the joint forces Abdihukun Abdullahi Horeye were killed in the attack. We are establishing more details on the incident,"

"We heard the blast and learnt that forces were targeted at a restaurant in our town. The place was cordoned off by the security forces," according to witness Mohamed Omar.
