Kuwait's GDP trends 'downward'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, April 20: In parallel with the increase in the number of Kuwaitis and the drop in oil prices, Kuwait's GDP is on the downward trend since 2016/2017, reports Al-Qabas daily.

This indicator shows the share of Kuwaiti GDP per capita, reaching KD 28,692 in 2015/2014, rising to KD 29,558 in 2015/2016, and continued to rise in 2016/2017 to KD 31,124, and then decreased in 2017/2018 to KD 30,787, and on 31/12/2018 the per capita amounted to KD 27,996.

A recent report by the Audit Bureau confirmed that the per capita income (total population with expatriates) reached KD 9,606 in 2014/2015 and then decreased to KD 9,328 in 2015/2016 and continued to decline in 2016/2017 to KD 9,226, and in 2017 decreased to KD 8,728, and the per capita income was KD 8,499 on 31/12/2018.
