Oman, Japan sign MoU on military cooperation


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman and Japan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on military cooperation at the headquarters of the Japanese Defense Ministry in Tokyo on Monday.

The MoU was signed by H E Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Oman, and the Japanese defense minister Takeshi Iyawa.

The memorandum aims at boosting aspects of military cooperation between the Sultanate and Japan, thus promoting relations of the existing cooperation and serving the common interests of both countries.

H E Busaidi held an official session of talks with the Japanese defense minister. The two sides reviewed relations of the existing military cooperation and means of boosting them, as well as discussing a range of issues of common concern.

The defence minister also met Kentaro Sonoura, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan. H E Busaidi is on a several day visit to Japan.
