WHO extends medical aid to Libyan hospitals

(MENAFN) Libya was granted urgent medical aid delivered to its hospitals from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Sunday.

In a statement, WHO confirmed that it "sent 10 trucks loaded with emergency medical supplies and trauma kits to 10 major hospitals in different districts of Libya on March 23, providing desperately needed materials to treat diseases and injuries."

WHO noted that "the shipments were supported by European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO)."

It further added that the extended aid is likely to benefit 1.3 million patients over a period of three months.
