(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, March 18 (KUNA) -- The State Audit Bureau of Kuwait called the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) to sign cooperation agreements with financial control and supreme audit institutions for the development of this field in the Arab world.
This came in a statement to KUNA by Acting Chief of the Audit Bureau and First Deputy Chief of ARABOSAI, Adel Al-Sarawi on the sidelines of the 57th meeting of ARABOSAI's executive council in Tunis Monday.
The agenda of the ARABOSAI's executive council included several working papers aiming to improve the performance of the Arab financial control and supreme audit institutions, where Kuwait Audit Bureau presented a proposal for signing agreements with the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), Al-Sarawi said.
Kuwait Audit Bureau called for signing this agreement and strengthening cooperation with the ASOSAI in accordance with a three-year operational program covering many professional and technical issues for the development of the supervisory work, he said.
Kuwait's proposal was welcomed by the Arab member states of ARABOSAI, Al-Sarwai said.
Kuwait Bureau has a special vision on strengthening cooperation with international organizations in the field of financial control, he said.
Next week Kuwait Bureau will sign an agreement with Estonia's control institute, adding this monitory work faces many challenges, he added.
The 57th meeting of ARABOSAI's executive council kicked off earlier Monday with the participation of a Kuwaiti delegation including Acting Chief of the Audit Bureau Adel Al-Sarawi and several senior bureau officials. (end) ksj.ss
