Guarulhos airport hits record number of passengers
São Paulo - São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport registered more than 42 million passengers in 2018. This number represents a historical record of passengers, surpassing the one reached in 2014, when the airport posted 39.5 million passengers during the World Cup in Brazil.
According to GRU Airport, which administers the airport, the result is 11.2% higher than in 2017. Domestic passengers number reached 27.3 million, while international ones reached 14.8 million, among more than 276,000 takeoffs and landings – 77,000 international and 198,000 domestic flights.
