Tunisia, Russia discuss economic relations

(MENAFN) Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui addressed bilateral ties as well as trade and economic cooperation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

During the meeting, the Russian side hailed the significant part Tunisian plays within Africa and the Middle East when it comes to buying Russian goods.

"Russian exports are mainly represented by primary products, though there has emerged a trend of a rising share of processed products. Tunisian imports are mainly represented by agriculture products," Lavrov stated.

"Tunisian and Russian officials will focus again on these issues and discuss the opportunities for speeding up bilateral cooperation," affirmed Tunisia's Ambassador to Russia Mohamed Ali Chihi.
