Venezuela: 13 die in two days of violence


(MENAFN) A Caracas-based rights group declared that 13 people have been killed in two days of violence in Venezuela amid demonstrations against leftist leader Nicolas Maduro.

The Venezuelan Observatory of Social Conflict confirmed that the victims, mainly died of gun injuries, were reported in the capital and across the country, in addition to the of robbery reports in Brazilian border state Bolivar.

Violence erupted on Monday when 27 troopers stood against Maduro at a command post in Caracas, demanding upon people to "take to the streets" in viral footage on social media.

However, the most intense violence started Tuesday night in Caracas and Bolivar, resuming Wednesday throughout Venezuela on a day of mass opposition, supported protests against Maduro.
