Qatari students shine at Arab Robotics Championship

Doha: The Qatari teams from government schools which participated in the 12th Arab Robotics Championship in Kuwait have won advanced positions in most of the categories of competition.

The three-day 12th Arab Robotics Championship which concluded on Thursday was organized by Sabah Al Ahmad Center in cooperation with the Arab Robotics Association.

A number of students from the winning Qatari teams expressed their happiness over their achievement, which were well-prepared for the tournament.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Obeidli, Head of Qatari delegation, praised the performance of the students from all Arab countries.

He also praised the students of the Qatari teams who won advanced positions in the competition, which according to him indicates the strong academic and creative level among Qatari school students and their knowledge of technology.

Mariam Al Awadhi, Director of Hind bint Abu Sufyan Secondary School for Girls, specialized in the field of educational robotics said that it was strong and distinctive competition from all the Arab students' teams.

Ismail Shams, representative of the Arab Robotics Association in Qatar, said that the championship has witnessed high levels of professionalism, which indicates strong knowledge and high academic level of participants.

The Robot Science is not only means of entertainment but also is an innovative way to enhance students thinking, skills and talents, and to motivate them to develop their skills and apply their knowledge in the fields of science, engineering, mathematics and programming.
