Oman- Sayyid Asaad to preside over Muqshin festival closing today


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan will patronise over the closing ceremony of fourth Muqshin Heritage Festival on Thursday.

The competition, held as part of the festival, saw participation of camel owners from wilayats across the sultanate.

The fourth Muqshin Heritage Festival saw several cultural, heritage and sports events including camel beauty competition (Mazayna) and camel milking competition (Mahalba).

It also included a shooting competition in addition to lectures on culture, poetry and art nights.

The festival aims at maintaining the Omani heritage,

highlighting the cultural potential and activating the cultural movement in Muqshin, in addition to providing opportunity to breeders and citizens to market their camels.

The festival began on December 18.
