Tunisians launch 'red vests' social movement

(MENAFN) Tunisia has been witnessing a new social movement which was launched by a national coordination of protest.

The new "red vests" movement has been motivated when the "yellow vests" protest movement erupted recently in France.

The movement is to commence this year on December 17th, declared its founders at a news conference held at the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) headquarters.

Member of the national coordination Riadh Jrad stated: "these planned social protests will take place in full respect of civilized and peaceful demonstrations and standards of the rights of expression."

Jrad added: "all Tunisian people are concerned and we are defending our right to a fair development and prices adapted to our purchasing power."
