Perth will suit Aussies more than India: Ponting
11 Dec 2018

India beat Australia by 31 runs to win the first Test in Adelaide and take a 1-0 lead in the 4-match series.

Prior to the Test, many former cricketers and current pundits had their say on the series.

Legend Ricky Ponting, who has had his views on different aspects, has now opined that the Aussies will have an edge going into the second Test.

'I think Perth will definitely suit our guys'

Both teams took 20 wickets apiece in the first Test and a lot will depend on how the bowlers bowl in the second Test to be held at Perth.

Ponting told cricket.com.au, "I think Perth will definitely suit our guys a lot more than the Indian players, but the Aussies need to bounce back pretty quickly".

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Ponting also believes that Australia will need to find out their shortcomings quickly and take control.

"They played pretty poorly and got within 30 runs. And that's not saying India played at their absolute best either, but they're absolutely capable. Australia also got to take a good hard look at what they've done in Adelaide and make sure they do it a lot better."

Australia need to sharpen both batting and bowling
Vision

Australia will need the pacers to come good.

Ace spinner Nathan Lyon was terrific for the hosts with 8 wickets to his name.

But the likes of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood need to strike form.

Also the batting needs work.

Australia shouldn't go impulsive and make changes, but rather they should find a way and work it well among the playing XI.
