Samsung Heavy wins deal for 2 LNG carriers
(MENAFN) South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries Co. said it has made a USD358 million deal to establish two LNG carriers.
According to the company, the contract, with an Asian shipper, calls for it to deliver the vessels by the end of 2021.
With the deal, Samsung Heavy has made deals valued at a combined USD5.4 billion so far this year to build 44 ships in total, including 13 LNG carriers.
The shipbuilder intends to secure USD8.2 billion worth of deals for the year.
