Egypt- Borolos, Rashid fields output up to 450m feet by end 2018/19
A source in the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) told Daily News Egypt that 9B wells will contribute towards increasing the production of the fields and compensate for the rate of natural erosion of the project, which has been increasing since the partner stopped development operations during the past years.
It is worth mentioning that the foreign partner stopped working for two years due to accumulating dues with the Egyptian government, which the ministry of petroleum succeeded in repaying. The confirmed reserves of the Borlos fields in all stages amount to some 5tn cubic feet of gas and about 55m barrels of condensates.
The source explained that the drilling of the single well in the phase 9B fields in the Borolos area in the deep water in the Mediterranean Sea needs about 45 days in case of stability of navigation in the Mediterranean Sea.He added that the project phase 9B includes eight productive wells, and two exploration wells, where Shell is implementing them on two stages, one to be completed in the current FY, while the other will be ready in 2019/20.
20m cfpd of the first well, Simian DT, in the western Nile Delta region of the Mediterranean has been connected to the national pipeline network. The production will increase after assessment. He explained that the production is divided into about 385m cfpd of gas from the fields of Borlos, and 15m feet a day of the Rashid concession area.
