(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Austria, current Chair of the European Union (EU), on Friday affirmed support for the bloc in its efforts aimed at halting fighting in Yemen.
Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, in a statement released in her country's capacity as the present EU chair, expressed support for the mission, undertaken by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, for settling the political strife in the country.
Minister Kneissl said she had requested holding discussions on this issue during a meeting of the EU foreign minister, due in Brussels on Monday.
She added that her colleagues would also look into other topics, namely central Asia, Bosnia, Ukraine and immigration. (end) amq.rk
