Kuwait welcomes Moroccan King's overtures to Algeria

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- An official of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday said his country supports the initiative recently made by Moroccan King Mohammad VI to open "a direct and candid dialogue with neighborly and sisterly Algeria." In a speech to the nation on the 43rd anniversary of the Green March a couple of days ago, King Mohammad VI proposed working out a joint viable plan for the normalization of relations.
The Kuwaiti senior diplomat voiced hope that "this constructive initiative" would commence a process of negotiations that could contribute to settling the differences between both neighbors peacefully.
Such a process could also promote peace and security in the entire Arab Maghreb region, the Kuwaiti official added. (end) amh.gb
