Oman- Nama Group to conduct roundtable discussion on energy efficiency
The main objective of the session is to reflect key strategies to design sustainable utilities and eco-friendly houses, plus the efficiency of electrical appliances and their impact on the social, economic, environmental aspects, a press release said.
The roundtable discussion will be chaired by Atif Sulaiman al Alawi, Acting EM – group communication and sustainability, and to be presented by the Omani economy expert, Dr Ahmed Said Kashoob. The event will discuss a number of topics, aiming at enhancing the efficiency of electricity and other related sectors in the sultanate. Nama Group targets to involve a group of senior officials and representatives from various institutions in the sultanate's public and private sectors to discuss the progress of energy concepts.It is worth mentioning that the Nama Group has launched the national electricity conservation campaign 2018, one of the Group's sustainability projects, under the theme of 'Tadoom', with the objective to promote the concepts of sustainability in the environmental, social and economic fields.
The campaign intends to highlight the importance of rationalising energy consumption to the participants, their key rules to conserve the national resources as well as best practices to maintain the electricity. The project focuses on three main pillars: Design of sustainable and energy-efficient houses, efficiency of appliances used to provide electricity, and right behaviours to rationalise consumption.
