Bahrain converts 169 to court for establishing 'terror' cell


(MENAFN) According to media reports, on Tuesday, Bahraini authorities converted 169 people to court after accusing them trying to establish "Bahraini Hezbollah" organization in the kingdom.

The Bahrain News Agency reported, citing Ahmed al-Hammadi, Bahrain's chief prosecutor for terrorism-related crime, "Following investigations, 169 defendants, including 111 now in custody, were referred to trial".

The perpetrators face a set of charges, including membership in a terrorist set, trying to kill, learning how to use weapons and explosives, and illegal weapons possession.

On October 3, they will be subjected to a trail session in front of the Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court.
