Qatar- QSE index closes at 9,766.33 points

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange's (QSE) benchmark index lost 255.63 points, or 2.55 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,766.33 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 40.92 percent to reach QR1.35bn compared to QR958.30m.

Trading volume increased by 35.98 percent to reach 37.31 million shares, as against 27.43 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 10.76 percent, to reach 17,884 transactions as compared to 16,146 transactions.

Market cap fell by 1.91 percent to reach QR543.29bn as compared to QR553.87bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 38.17 percent of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.69 percent. Industries sector accounted for 16.02 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.46 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 28.3 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 25.39 percent. Industries sector accounted for 17.29 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 13.50 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of last week with 30.65 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 23.50 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.05 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 8.47 percent.

From the 45 listed companies 13 ended last week higher, while 31 fell and one remained unchanged, reports QNA.

Barwa Real Estate led traded value during last week accounted for 17.09 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 15.71 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 7.58 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 39.07 points, 0.40 percent, compared to Wednesday's closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 14.28 million from 5.55 million on Wednesday and the value of shares also increased to QR539.48m from QR218.92m on Wednesday.

From the 47 companies listed on QSE, shares of 45 saw trading yesterday. From these, 18 companies gained, 24 closed lower and three remained unchanged.

Indices of five sectors ended green zone and two sectors red zone yesterday. QSE Total Return Index decreased 0.40 percent to 17,207.20 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost 0.72 percent to 3,797.09 points. QSE All Share Index gained 0.07 percent to 2,879.11 points.
