Qatar- Awareness workshop on exit and residency laws held
DOHA: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs yesterday conducted awareness workshop about the new amendments in the law regulating entry, exit and residency of the expatriates.
It also highlighted many other issues like medical examination procedures and signing of work contracts for expatriates. The event was held at Qatar Chamber headquarters in the presence of a number of representatives of diplomatic missions in the State.
At the beginning of the seminar, Mohammed Al Obaidli, Assistant Undersecretary for labor affairs at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs said that soon they would start implementing the new amendments of the law which allowed employees to leave the county without exit permit.
He added that the new amendment will enhance the right of the employees, adding, 'We are working in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and the Qatar Chamber to hold a number of awareness seminars on these procedures for the relevant parties Including diplomatic missions operating in the country.
