PRESS RELEASE- UPDATE FOR BELIZE BIRDS FIELD GUIDE APP

(MENAFNEditorial) This free update for the Belize Birds app includes several additional images.

Online PR News 08-September-2018 September 6, San Jose, Costa Rica In celebration of the inaugural Belize Birding Festival to be held on October 27, a free update for the Birding Field Guides app for Belize became available in the iTunes Store on September 6, 2018.

Belize is an increasingly popular destination for tourists searching for a blend of scenic beaches, Mayan ruins, and observation of tropical wildlife. This small Central American country is also situated rather close to Canada and the USA, and offers good infrastructure as well as widespread use of the English language.

Belize has long been a popular destination for birders on account of its wealth of protected habitats and the beautiful birds that occur therein. These include tropical species like toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds and other birds typical of rainforest and other tropical habitats.

The Belize Birds Field Guide app is meant for anyone interested in the avifauna of Belize and is a digital field guide with hundreds of high quality images showing 98% of the species on the Belize bird list (more than 585 species), bird sounds for more than 400 species, and text and range maps for all species that have been recorded in Belize. Recently, a free update was provided for this app with more images, including ones for several species difficult to photograph.

Michael Mullin, head programmer for Birding Field Guides, expects that this recent update will enhance every visit to Belize.

He said, "We believe that the additional images on the app improve its utility in the field and as a means of learning about the birds of Belize before and during trips to this beautiful country. Birds are for everyone, not just for experts but also every person who appreciates the beauty and wonderful diversity of birds found in Belize."

This app is currently available for iOS 8.0 or later iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone devices.
