DOHA: As part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced new temporary parking arrangements at Hamad General Hospital for patients and visitors.

From Sunday, September 2, several changes to parking arrangements will take effect at Hamad General Hospital.

The parking area directly in front of the main entrance to Hamad General Hospital will be reserved for the exclusive use of patients and visitors. A small area will be designated for valet parking.

The multi-storey parking facility next to the Hamad General Hospital Outpatient Department is to be used by staff. This parking facility is also available to patients and visitors as overflow parking if hospital parking is full.

The parking areas at Hamad General Hospital that are designated for HMC clinicians can only be accessed by pass holders and will only be available to clinical staff between 5am and 2pm.

After 2pm each day, these areas will be unlocked and open for patient and visitor parking, where appropriate. At 5am each day these areas will again be locked and open only to pass holders (clinical staff).

Cars remaining in these parking areas after 5am without a pass will receive a fine from the Ministry of Interior's Traffic Department.

'Every day thousands of patients, visitors, and staff use the parking areas at Hamad General Hospital. We are always looking at new ways to ensure our patients and visitors have access to convenient parking at all of our facilities, said Nagi Khamis Al Mannai, Executive Director for Real Estate Development at HMC.

'These changes mean our patients will be able to park more conveniently. We would like to thank our patients and the community for their support.
