Libya issues alert over cholera infections from Algeria


(MENAFN) The Health Ministry of the Libyan government has issued an alert against potential cholera infections spread from Algeria.

In a statement, the Libyan minister confirmed the level of preparation against the possibility of cholera infections from Algeria to spread to the country to have been risen by the Monitoring and Investigation Department of the National Center for Disease Control.

The ministry also urged all medical centers and hospitals to "take caution from people coming from Algeria and check their health status for any possible symptoms of the disease."

It comes after Algerian health authorities reportedly declared a growing number of cholera cases to have been confirmed in its northern provinces.
