Somalia: Al Shabaab publishes Kulbiyow operation images, press release
In a press release the Islamist militants released of the fighters' assault on a KDF camp at Kulbiyow on the Kenya-Somalia border last Friday, 27 January, Al Shabaab claims that it killed over 67 KDF service men in the attack.
The group's media wing, Al Kattaib, posted pictures of the overrun camp showing the bodies of soldiers killed in the battle, gutted and burned military vehicles, armored personnel cars, trucks, gun-mounted battle wagons and other military vehicles captured unscathed, as well as varied types of weapons which fell into the hands of the militants.
The operation, the press release states, was named the Ghazwat Al Shaykh Mohamed Dulyadeen.
