Saudi Arabia, Iraq's Kurdistan to create economic joint body

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region were declared to have settled on a deal to create a joint body for economic cooperation.

The agreement was said to have been reached during a meeting between a Saudi economic delegation and the chairman and members of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in Erbil Tuesday.

The focus of the meeting was mainly on methods to boost economic and investment cooperation among both sides, as confirmed chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce Sami bin Abdullah al-Obeidi.

Al-Obeidi said "the investment law in Kurdistan provides good opportunities for Saudi businessmen to invest in the region and we are all trying to enable the private sector to play an active role in this field and to form task forces to activate investments in the near future."
