Oman- Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup: Al Faisal, Khalid all set for Super Cup in Hungaroring

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's Al Faisal al Zubair holds good memories of the Hungaroring circuit in Budapest, having managed a top-ten finish at last year's Porsche Mobil 1 Super Cup.

The 20 year old will hope that he could better his previous best and is looking forward to the sixth round of the 2018 Porsche Super Cup at Magyar Nagdij Formula One circuit.

Looking ahead to the race, Al Faisal said, 'Last year I had finished ninth. The grid this year is a bit harder and I am not putting an expectation on myself. We will see how it goes.'

Al Faisal will be joined by his Omani teammate, Khalid al Wahaibi, who will be making his debut at the circuit though he did enjoy a test session at the venue.

Both the drivers had a dramatic race in Hockenheim last weekend - where a team qualifying error cost Al Faisal and Khalid dearly. The duo will be hoping to bounce back at the 4.381km, 14-turn Hungaroring.

Khalid said, 'The back-to-back weekends is great because you have just been in the car and when you go to Budapest you are ready to start straight away again. I am excited. The test there was not too bad. It should be good. There are a lot of different tyres of corners and it can be very tight. I am looking forward to getting back out and hope to have a better weekend than the last one.'

The Porsche Super Cup has been a support race to the Hungarian Grand Prix since 1993.

Drivers take to the circuit for the first time for training on Friday afternoon. Qualifying follows on Saturday morning and the sixth round of the championship roars into life on Sunday.
