Kuwait- Mogherini, Pompeo discuss Syria, Iran nuclear deal

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, July 12 (KUNA) -- EU High Representative Federica Mogherini Thursday met with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and discussed a number of common pressing foreign and security issues.
They discussed the ongoing work for the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, the situation in Ukraine, the prospects for peace in Afghanistan, the conflict in Syria, the recent developments in Iraq, the support to the G5 Sahel countries and the EU's continued commitment to the Iran nuclear deal, said a statement released by Mohgerini's office tonight.
Their bilateral meeting was followed by the 8th EU-US Energy Council, which was co-chaired by Mogherini, EU energy Commissioner Arias Canete, Pompeo and US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.
