Qatar to support civil aviation sector in Iraq

(MENAFN) The Qatari General Civil Aviation Authority declared that it has started to take the first steps in support of the civil aviation sector in the neighboring Republic of Iraq.

The Authority said that this step reinforces the recent achievements of the Iraqi Airways, which would positively reflect on the situation of air transport in Iraq and the Middle East.

It also comes also as part of the Authority's continued efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of civil aviation with its counterparts in all neighboring countries.

The announcement was made during an official visit by HE Mr. Kadhim Finjan al Hammami, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Iraq and his accompanying delegation to the State of Qatar. During the trip he met with HE Mr. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications and HE Mr. Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al Subaie, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Chairman.
