(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Deputy Governor of central Logar province and his two bodyguards were killed in the militants attack on Thursday, a local representative said.
Provincial Council Head Haseebullah Stanikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in the Waghjan Bazaar area of Mohammad Agha district this afternoon.
He said Deputy Governor Qamaruddin Shekaib was on his way to Kabul when came under the Taliban attack in Waghjan. Governor Spokesman Saleem Saleh has been injured in the Taliban attack.
Zubair the resident of locality said the Taliban attacked a government Hilux vehicle and killed three people on board. Police later arrived at the site and evacuated the bodies and injured.
The Taliban have not yet spoken about the incident, but the group€™s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said 130 attacks had been conducted country-wide after the announcement of spring offensive Al Khandaq.
