(MENAFN) Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari visits Iraq on Monday upon an invitation by Iraqi Planning Minister Salman Al-Jumaili.
The Iraqi Ministry of Planning stated in a statement that Shariatmadari will meet Jumaili at the ministry building, IRNA reported.
A joint press conference will monitor the two officials' meeting, according to the statement.
Shariatmadari's visit to Baghdad will be a part of Iran-Iraq cooperation in all spheres, particularly in trade and industry.
There will be meetings between the Iranian and Iraqi ministers, as well as the country's minister of transport, some Iraqi sources said.
During the visit also some memoranda of understanding that are already signed will be activated, and issues concerning the ways of increasing trade exchange between the two countries will be discussed.
The overall value of exports from Iran to Iraq is more than 13 billion dollars, according to official data.
Trade attache at Iran's embassy in Baghdad Naser Behzad has recently announced that the country's non-oil exports in an 11-month period in the current Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2017) have hit 5.5 billion dollars.
