First Oman wedding industry awards to be held on March 5

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The first-ever wedding industry awards for Oman will be held on March 5. The first Bride & Groom Oman Wedding Industry Awards will recognise and reward talent in the Omani wedding industry. This was announced at the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) on Sunday.

The awards, which will be held under the auspices of the ministry, will welcome industry veterans and leaders as well as energetic start-ups and newcomers. Companies were invited to nominate themselves in 15 categories of wedding-related services. Winners will be selected from each category based on a set of criteria.

Mohammed Saif al Riyami, director of International Office at MoT, said, 'We aim to highlight Oman as a preferred destination for leisure, MICE, investments and wedding. The sultanate is gaining popularity as a wedding destination in Asia by focusing on the tourist profile arriving into Oman.

'Further, we believe that this event gives an opportunity to introduce entrepreneurs from various aspects of the bridal industry.'

Sridevi Sivakumar, managing partner, Synergy Advertising & Publishing, the organisers of the event, said, 'The objective of this event is to showcase the entire wedding industry on a single platform and to recognise the talent in the burgeoning Oman wedding industry.'

The event will showcase the works of Arushi Fashion Design with a bridal couture show, and Mon Cherie, an international brand, which will showcase their beautiful collection especially for bridesmaids and bride's mother.
