Palestinians injured in Gaza Strip increase to 27

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- The number of injuries among Palestinians as a result of their confrontations with the Israeli forces has increased to 27 on Friday, Palestinian medical sources announced.

The occupation forces opened fire at the Palestinians on the eastern and northern borders of the Gaza Strip, Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman of health ministry, said in a press statement.

Two out of the total wounded are currently in a very critical condition due to receiving bullet shots in the head and stomach, Al-Qudra indicated.

He also noted that the injured Palestinians were transported to the hospital from four areas where the confrontations took place, adding that six were from northern Gaza, eight from eastern Jabalia, nine from eastern Gaza, and four from eastern Al-Buraij area in central Gaza.

Meanwhile, eye witnesses told KUNA that Israeli forces used gas bombs against dozens of Palestinian protesters along the border strip, causing suffocation to several of them.

The Palestinian demonstrations have been recently held upon Palestinian factions' call to express their rejection of US President Donald Trump's December 6, 2017 decision of recognizing Jerusalem as an Israeli capital.

They are also condemning Israeli forces' recent killing of a Palestinian activist last week in the city of Jenin of the West Bank. (end) wab.ma
