Vietnam corruption crackdown to put energy executives on trial
(MENAFN) In the wake of Vietnam clean-up of corruption within energy and banking sector, senior executives from the country's state oil company are set to stand before court in Hanoi.
Vietnam has apprehended twenty-two executives to stand trial with defendants among them to be a senior Communist Party official, and PetroVietnam Construction former chief Trinh Xuan Thanh.
However, Germany believed Mr. Thanh to have been kidnapped last July from a park in Berlin with Hanoi assuring his return to have taken place voluntarily.
In case he was found guilty of corruption in court, the former chief Thanh might be given a capital penalty.
