Former president Fujimori's pardon criticized by Peruvian writers

(MENAFN) Peru authorities' resolution to pardon ex-president Alberto Fujimori has been violently criticized by several Peruvian writers.

The letter has been signed by a group of writers who included Mario Vargas Llosa, a Nobel Prize-winning author.

The Spanish news agency Efe has received the letter which accused President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski of making an unlawful as well as reckless decision that brough shame to Peru.

The protest came after former president Fujimori was pardoned last Sunday by the president after suffering from bad health conditions while serving a prison sentence for corruption and human rights abuses.
