Azerbaijani citizenship granted to 573 foreigners

Azerbaijan is taking all necessary measures to protect the rights of migrants, Parviz Musayev, deputy head of the State Migration Service, said Dec. 18 in Baku at an event dedicated to the International Migrants Day.
Musayev noted that more than 38,000 foreigners who arrived in Azerbaijan for 11 months of this year were granted a temporary residence permit, approximately 3,000 foreigners were granted a permanent residence permit. Azerbaijani citizenship was granted to 573 foreigners, he said.
He added that during this period, voluntary return of more than 10,000 people was ensured, and eight foreign citizens were granted refugee status.
