Pence, King Abdullah II discuss IS, Iran, other Mideast issues


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, Nov. 27 (KUNA) -- Vice President Mike Pence had a productive meeting Monday with King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Office of the Vice President announced.

"The meeting provided the Vice President the opportunity to thank the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for its steadfast leadership in the region, and its efforts in defeating ISIS and countering Iranian influence," the announcement said, referring to the so-called Islamic State.

Other topics the two discussed included "the strengthening of the bilateral relationship and how to best move forward to ensure a stable and safe Middle East," the statement said. (end) rm.bs
