New revelations indicate soldier's death in Niger as an execution
(MENAFN) On Friday, a report was released claiming that a couple of villagers, who were together with the first to discover the corpse of Sgt. La David Johnson last month in Niger, remembered finding the body with tied hands as well as a wide open head injury.
The claims of the villagers lift up the likelihood of Johnson being initially captured in the ambush on October 4 prior to being killed, as The Washington Post reported.
During a phone interview with the 23-year-old farmer, Adamou Boubacar said "his two arms were tied behind his back". The other eyewitness argued that the back of Johnson's head "was a mess, as if they had hit him with something hard, like a hammer. They took his shoes. He was wearing only socks."
