UN locust commission celebrates 50 years
(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Commission for Controlling Desert Locust in the Central Region (CRC) celebrated its 50th anniversary. The event was held under the auspices of H E Dr Fuad bin Jaafar bin Mohammed al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.
After opening the event, H E Dr Sajwani said that there is a close monitoring of the locust concentration areas, their movements and the risk levels they may pose. The FAO Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in CRC will hold its 30th meeting and the 34th executive committee of the Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in CRC in Muscat from Monday till Thursday.
