Jordan- Gov't signs MoU with GCC Interconnection Authority
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 19 (Petra)--The government singed with the GCC Interconnection Authority on Thursday, a Memorandum of Understanding to study the feasibility of connecting the power grid with GCC countries.
The MoU was signed by National Electric Power Company Director General Abdul Fattah Daradkeh and CEO of the GCC Interconnection Authority Ahmad Ali Al Ibrahimi.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif voiced hope that the agreement will reflect on Jordan's economy due to the increasing demand on electricity in the Kingdom.
He said such projects are deemed an effective means to reduce the cost of fuel and limit the environmental impact that result from traditional power generating systems.
