MOSCOW: A Russian court on Monday foundUkrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko guilty of complicity in thekilling of two Russian journalists Russian news agenciesreported.

Prosecutors had earlier asked the court to sentenceSavchenko whose case is a major source of tension betweenRussia and Ukraine to 23 years in prison.

The 34-year-old is regarded as a national hero by manyUkrainians. She has denied any wrongdoing.
