Did Janet Jackson embrace Islam

(MENAFN- Arab News) NEW YORK: Janet Jackson renowned US music star and sister of the late 'king of pop' Michael Jackson seems to be toning down her raunchy act according to international media reports amid claims that she has converted to Islam.

Alarabiya reported that the 49-year-old singer is said to have followed in her brother Jermaine's footsteps in converting when she married 40-year-old billionaire husband Wissam Al-Mana in 2012.
According to media reports she is taking the religion so seriously her show has undergone some serious changes not least to her previously raunchy costumes and dance moves.
'She feels like she has found a home with her new religion and has told members of her family who completely respect her choice' a source said.
'She has spent a great deal of time studying the religion and its followers. The days of raunchy dance moves and provocative lyrics are long gone for Janet.'
She also says 'Insha Allah' quite a lot these days' the source said. UAE's society magazine website 'Ahlan' reported that the question of 'Has she or hasn't she' has been on everyone's lips since her wedding.
The article added: 'Now sources close to the couple have confirmed that Janet Jackson has indeed converted to Islam.'
Meanwhile Janet has pulled out of the iHeartRadio Music Festival recently.
She was slated to perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena along with a host of other acts including Kanye West the Killers Coldplay Kenny Chesney Blake Shelton the Weeknd Duran Duran Lil Wayne David Guetta and Disclosure.
However reports said that Janet had to cancel 'due to an ear-related issue that prevents her from flying.'
