East Timor to appoint former health minister as next premier
(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) A former health minister will be East Timor's new
prime minister, replacing independence hero Xanana Gusmao, the
government said Wednesday, according to dpa.
President Taur Matan Ruak accepted the nomination by the CNRT party,
which won the most votes in the 2012 elections, it said.
'The new prime minister of Timor-Leste is to be Dr Rui Maria de
Araujo,' a government statement said.
Araujo will be sworn in Monday, presidential spokesman Matias
Saldanha said.
