Stray bullet hits boy 5 in Riyadh

(MENAFN- Arab News) A five-year-old boy is in intensive care at a hospital in Riyadh after being struck by a stray bullet which is now lodged in his skull.Sultan bin Berm bin Abdul Aziz is being treated at the Abanamy Hospital in Riyadh. His father said the bullet struck him while he was standing in the doorway of the family's home in Qurtuba district in the capital city on Saturday after the evening prayer.He said that the family had contacted many hospitals in Riyadh including the Military Hospital the University Hospital and Al-Habib Medical Hospital but none of these facilities wanted to take the case because it is so complicated.He appealed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to provide assistance so that his son can get help at a specialized institution in the country or overseas.He said the police should also launch an investigation to determine who fired the bullet. The family believes that someone who attended a wedding at a hall nearby had fired the shot he said.He thanked the Al-Hamra police department and director of the Riyadh police for assisting the family.
