Saudi- KMCC organizes blood donation camp
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Kerala Muslim Cultural Center (KMCC) national committee a cultural organization of Indian expatriate workers organized a week-long blood donation campaign starting to mark the Saudi National Day.
Ashraf Venghat general secretary of KMCC national committee for the Kingdom said thousands of members participated in this noble campaign which had been organized simultaneously in different parts of the Kingdom including the major cities of Riyadh Makkah Jeddah Madinah and Dammam.
He maintained that KMCC has been conducting such blood donation campaigns since 2012 with the approval of the Ministry of Health.
'This is our way of celebrating the National Day of Saudi Arabia a country which provides us with security. In turn we serve this country with our own blood to express our solidarity with the people of this great nation' Ashraf observed.
He informed that the campaign was conducted at King Saud Medical City Shumaisi in Riyadh in the presence of blood bank director Dr. Khaled Ibrahim Sawabi and in Jeddah at King Fahad Hospital in the presence of Dr. Mani Al-Juhani blood bank director.
In Madinah regional health ministry director general Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Taifi visited the campaign at King Fahad Hospital while in Makkah the blood donation camp was inaugurated by medical director Dr. Yaseen Muhammed Al-Mallavi at King Abdullah Medical City he said.
He added that in Al-Kharj the blood camp was opened at King Khaled Hospital by hospital director Dr. Majed Al-Magrabi.
KMCC president K P Mohammedkutty said that their organization is active in the fields of community service helping accident victims and critically ill patients in addition to supporting the repatriation process of deceased expats to India with the help of the Indian Embassy. He pointed out that the KMCC has also received awards for its humanitarian activities from governmental agencies.
