Danish PM rules out candidacy for top EU post
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Prime Minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt Wednesday denied European media reports that she is a candidate for the post of the President of the European Council.
"I am not a candidate. My answer is still the same, I am very pleased to be Danish PM. It's not sure we will find a candidate tonight. We would like to have unanimity and this may require a bit more time," she told journalists ahead of a special meeting of EU leaders in Brussels tonight to discuss the appointment of top EU posts.
"Now we need to have the discussion and we have decided that all 28 member have to agree and that is why it might take some time to find a good solution," she added.
