Bahrain's Conference on Civilizations and Cultures Kicks Off


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Manama May 05 -The landmark inter-civilisations dialogue conference kicked off here on Monday under the patronage of King Hamad bin isa al khalifa.

The opening ceremony of the "Civilisations in Service to Humanity" Conference held at the Gulf Hotel in Manama was attended by Crown Prince Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa who is also the Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today attended .

During the three -day conference the participants will focus on the importance of inter-faith dialogue in promoting religious tolerance coexistence and cultural ties.Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa The Crown Prince praised the conference for strengthening ties among nations and fostering international cooperation across social cultural and humanitarian spheres highlighting meantime the valuable role of dialogue in improving awareness and understanding of the common values shared by humankind.

He emphasised the need to mitigate differences among people and to focus on shared principles to secure economic social and cultural developmentreaffirming as well the Kingdom's own commitment to promoting dialogue and welcoming initiatives undertaken by international and regional organisations to build links between international communities.

The Crown prince further underlined that tolerance and respect for diversity are fundamental tenets of Bahrain's reform and development programme.(MORE)
