China's Inflation Up 2.4% in March


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ijing April 11 - China's consumer prices rose 2.4% in March from the year-ago period official data showed on Friday Xinhua news agency reported. Month on month prices dipped 0.5% according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics in line with expectations. Prices rose 0.5% in February from January. The acceleration in inflation was mainly attributed to faster growth of food prices which account for nearly one-third of the weighting in the calculation of China's CPI. Food prices gained 4.1% and contributed to 1.35% age-point of March's CPI growth the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said
