Kuwait- 'Nearly KD 6m bagged in March traffic fines'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdulfattah Al-Ali said Monday that the total sum of road traffic fines in March this month were KD 5.78 million ($20 million). Al-Ali added that the ministry will continue to deal firmly with anyone who violates the law and putting his life or the lives of others at risk. He made his remarks in a speech at the closing ceremony of the Ideal Driver Competition, adding that the ministry's Traffic General Administration and other administrations were exerting efforts to find effective solutions to traffic jams in Kuwait



Al-Ali stressed they are counting on drivers' respect of traffic rules and regulations, and on behavior on the road. He added that all ministries and government departments, including nonprofit organizations, institutions, banks and private companies could contribute to enforcing discipline on the road which will have a positive impact on solving congestions. Al-Ali thanked Boubyan Bank for organizing the ceremony. For his part, Interior ministry Director of Public Relations and Moral Guidance and Acting Director of Security Media Department Colonel Adel Al-Hashash said 20 drivers won the Ideal Driver award because they did not commit any violation of traffic rules
