UK trade deficit at USD5.3 b in September
(MENAFN) The trade deficit in Britain remained steady in the months of August and September at USD5.3 billion, Xinhuanet reported.
The trade deficit for goods was USD15.6 billion, but a surplus of USD10.4 billion on services helped offset the figure.
Exports of goods in the July-September period fell 3.5 percent to USD121.1 billion, while Imports of goods stood at USD167.7 billion.
British economic research institution Capital Economics said: "September's trade figures show that the UK economy continues to see an imbalance between domestic and overseas demand."
